Denisse James is a proud and passionate Mexican woman, married to a wonderful Welsh man and mother to two energetic boys. Her life has been a remarkable journey — from Mexico to the UK, where she met the love of her life, and eventually to beautiful Canada, which she and her family now call home. For the past 12 years, Denisse has lived in the picturesque Elbow Valley, a place she adores for its natural beauty and strong sense of community.
She holds a degree in International Business and spent several years working as a customs broker before life — and a global pandemic — gave her the push she needed to follow her true passion: fashion and style.
Always a bit of a nerd at heart, Denisse loves learning, but fashion has always been her happy place. Her love for it truly flourished after moving to London. Surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful brands, timeless labels, and endless inspiration, she began curating her own collection of classic and unique pieces. Friends would often “shop” her closet or borrow from it, frequently telling her, “You should do this for a living — you have such an eye for it!”
It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic, while at home with her boys, that she finally took the leap. With her husband’s encouragement, she decided to turn her passion into a business — a luxury consignment boutique called ROPERO. Based at home and primarily online, she helps others discover pieces that make them feel confident and special.
For Denisse, fashion has never been just about selling clothes — it’s about making people feel amazing. Helping someone find the right outfit, the perfect bag, or simply reminding them to wear confidence is what truly lights her up.
Because at the end of the day, Denisse believes fashion isn’t just about what you wear — it’s about how you feel when you wear it.
